August 2026: Auto, labor market, and e-receipt data, plus a Catalog reorg
This month's headline is a reorganization of the data catalog around datasets, plus new ways to document your catalog, a cleaner Projects experience, and a long list of reliability fixes across the Dewey platform.
DATA UPDATES
Three new data providers added
- Automotive - MarketCheck scans over 100,000 dealership websites across the US and Canada daily, capturing what's sitting on the lot and what's selling at the VIN level. Already included in every Dewey subscription.
- Labor market and workforce - Lightcast labor market and workforce data powers academic research on labor economics, workforce skills and education, and regional economic analysis. Occupation and job postings data is now available through Connect, and company and office data covering over 200 million companies worldwide comes included in the Dewey Subscription.
- E-Receipt - Measurable AI's Shopee E-Receipt Data and Panelist Info are now available in Connect on the Dewey platform. Tap into millions of anonymized e-commerce transactions across Southeast Asia and Brazil.
Free data added
- IPinfo's lite geolocation data is now downloadable straight from the Dewey platform. It maps the entire IPv4 and IPv6 address space to country and ASN, about 35 million rows, refreshed daily, and completely free.
PRODUCT UPDATES
Data catalog reorganization
- New dataset listing view shows all primary and supplementary tables on a single dataset, making it easier to visualize the relationship between tables.
- Documentation and changelogs are now shown at the dataset level.
- Codebooks and other resources are now available within the Dewey platform, on the documentation tab for each dataset (where available).
- Tables added to a project are now grouped and summarized by dataset, with combined "last refreshed" and "last accessed" info.
- AI search dataset recommendations on the Discover page are now grouped by dataset, showing table and paper counts and category tags at a glance instead of a flat list of individual tables.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed formatting of links and text in discussion replies.
- Fixed projects not sorting correctly by "last accessed."
- Fixed a bug where re-verifying an email address could occasionally cause page-load failures and brief slowdowns across the site. Added additional safeguards to prevent this from happening in the future.
- Project-related download errors now show the actual reason (e.g. "add this dataset to your project first") instead of a generic message.
