U.S. Census Bureau ACS 5-Year Household Income Brackets (Block Group)
Description
The full income distribution behind the median estimate. 16 bracket columns count households in each income range, plus a total: `lt_10k`, `10_15k`, `15_20k`, `20_25k`, `25_30k`, `30_35k`, `35_40k`, `40_45k`, `45_50k`, `50_60k`, `60_75k`, `75_100k`, `100_125k`, `125_150k`, `150_200k`, `gte_200k`. Each bracket has a paired margin-of-error column. Use for inequality measures, poverty-share calculations, share above/below specific thresholds, and bracket-weighted aggregations that the median alone can't support.
Licensing and redistribution. U.S. Census Bureau data products are works of the United States Government and are not subject to copyright: "Copyright protection under this title is not available for any work of the United States Government" (17 U.S.C. § 105). Dewey redistributes this processed extract on that public-domain basis. The Census Bureau requests (but does not require) citation, and prohibits using the data to "identify any individual person, household, business or other entity" — a confidentiality obligation that passes through to users of this dataset. This product uses the Census Bureau Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the Census Bureau.
